ABOUT:

Josh Smith is a set and lighting designer based in New York City. He makes his own kimchi and is an avid marnie the dog enthusiast (may she Rest In Peace).

He's designed at Ars Nova, Abrons Arts Center, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Here Arts, Lincoln Center Education, the Sharon Playhouse, Bucks County Playhouse, Casa Manana, The New Ohio Theatre, Incubator Arts Project, Park Avenue Armory, Theatre Raleigh, North Carolina Theatre, Dixon Place, and other venues across NYC and abroad. 

Associate/Assistant work includes plays and musicals for Broadway, Playwrights Horizons, Second Stage Theatre, The Public Theatre, Juilliard Drama, LCT3, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Hartford Stage, Huntington Theatre Co, Shakespeare Theatre Co, The Old Globe, Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Guthrie Theatre, Opera Theatre St. Louis, Glimmerglass Opera, Portland Center Stage, and The Alliance Theatre.

Art Direction/Set Design for film and TV includes The Flight Attendant, The Americans, Iron Fist, Evil, Godfather of Harlem, Living with Yourself, Run the World, Russian Doll, and Sneaky Pete.

Josh studied at Carnegie Mellon University.
